Traditional black tie, with room for character
Traditional black tie begins with black or midnight navy, silk facings, jetted pockets, and clean lines. From there, the details can be made entirely personal. As an independent clothier, we can source satin and grosgrain silks in a wide range of colors and develop the entire look around the occasion.
Creative black tie may introduce a black watch tartan dinner jacket, moiré silk, a ruffled shirt, or a custom butterfly bow tie. Each choice should add character while keeping the composition coherent.
Most commissions require two to three months and multiple fittings. For weddings and winter gala season, beginning early allows time to resolve every proportion and detail.
